FURNESS ACADEMY ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS AND POLICY
Furness Academy General Admissions Policy together with associated admission arrangements comply with both the mandatory requirements of the School Admissions Code and with the provisions of Part 3 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. The Furness Academy admission arrangements, including the admissions policy for 2016/17 was consulted on with all schools in Cumbria, neighbouring LAs and schools, the Admissions Forum, Diocesan bodies and the trade unions representing staff employed in schools, by the relevant dates. The Governing Body of Furness Academy took account of this consultation when it determined the policy for 2016/17. In line with regulations the determined policy was placed on the Furness website and a public notice in the press invited objections from the public. If you have any concerns or objections with regard to this policy, please contact Mrs Hughes, Assistant Headteacher at firstname.lastname@example.org
FURNESS ACADEMY ADMISSIONS POLICY
The policy below outlines clearly and simply the procedures and protocols which are currently in operation around admissions into Furness Academy. All applications for the transfer of students to Furness Academy in Years 8-11 will be made via our own application process. Please contact Mrs Kells, Attendance Officer at email@example.com for more information. As an Academy we are our own admissions authority, but we have taken the decision to carry on working closely with the Local Authority to ensure that all arrangements are both transparent and fair. For applications for Year 7 and more information about the local authority admissions process, please visit Cumbria County Council School Admissions.
