Our aspirations are to achieve personal best grades for all students. We aim to exceed previous GCSE English performances, ensuring Furness Academy brings academic success to its community.
At Key Stage 4, for example, we have developed an accelerated entry policy, providing students with several opportunities to secure their personal best grade in GCSE English. We also offer GCSE English Literature and GCSE Media Studies. Recently we have planned a three year GCSE programme starting in year 9. At Key Stage 3 we follow the national literacy framework, preparing students for the demand of examination courses.
