Science

Science is the largest department at the Academy encompassing general science at Key Stage 3 and 4 which covers the Biology, Chemistry and Physics disciplines. The word Science makes us first think of white lab coats, microscopes, Bunsen burners, stars and planets; but we inspire students to learn about all these thing and so much more. Students learn scientific facts and ideas from Aristotle to Einstein, tsunamis and genetics to the human effects on our planet Earth. We teach students how to observe and think about the world scientifically.

We offer GCSE Dual and Triple Awards as well as the BTEC First and Extended Certificates. These options allow us to develop individual learning routes for every student. Each route enables us to stimulate and engage students in a way that suits them whilst maximising their future opportunities to progress in to employment or further education.
