Food Technology and Catering
In years 7 and 8 Food Technology is delivered on a carousel within the Technology Department. Students follow the Licence to Cook Scheme where they develop their knowledge of Healthy Eating and Safety and Hygiene whilst developing practical skills by producing a range of food and food related products.
In Catering Students investigate and study all aspects of the Catering industry from job roles, employment and training, menu planning, to food preparation, cooking and presentation.
The emphasis is placed upon developing practical skills by producing dishes for a range of catering establishments e.g. restaurants, self-service, buffet, take away etc.
