Northern School of Oriental Cookery and John Hutton

On Friday 23rd October a group of Year 9 Students were given the opportunity to visit the Northern school of oriental cuisine.Whilst there they learnt about the eastern way of life and were shown different foods, herbs and spices that are used in their foods. The students were then given a food demonstration after which they were allowed to take part in practical work producing numerous Onion Bhajis, and sampling some of the wonderful products made by Ooh Rigg one of the co owners.

During the afternoon there was a visit from our local MP John Hutton who spent some time talking to the students about their work and tasting some of the products on offer.'

The start to the term has been a positive and busy one.  Students arrived back to both sites looking smarter than ever in their uniforms and have approached their studies with a real sense of determination and diligence.  The prefects on both sites have taken to their duties well, and are to be applauded on their efforts to give their personal best. Being a prefect is an honour and provides the opportunity, amongst other things, to represent all the students in meetings with myself and other Senior Leaders.
