Teaching Assistant

Salary NJC 5 £18,795 pro rata
Temporary Post, Part Time 31 hours per week, Term Time Only 39 weeks/year

Furness Academy are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to work as a Temporary Teaching Assistant covering a maternity leave due to end on 12th March, 2021. The successful candidates will work under the instruction and guidance of teaching and senior staff to undertake work/ care/ support programmes to enable access to learning for students, and to assist teachers in the management of the students both inside and outside the classroom.

You will:

  • Promote and enhance the learning and teaching experiences of students with SEND in a range of different contexts including in class support.
  • Plan and deliver interventions to individuals or focus groups and assess and monitor the impact of the provision.
  • Hold and NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or have experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Have experience of planning and delivering interventions.

General Catering Assistant

Salary: NJC 2 (£9.18 per hour) £17,711 Full Time Equivalent
12.5 hours per week Mon – Fri term time only + 2 weeks
Job Reference Code: FET 03/07/09

Furness Education Trust is recruiting for a General Catering Assistant. The role will be based predominantly at Furness Academy however there will be a requirement to be flexible and able to travel to the other schools within our Trust if required.

You will:

  • Prepare food.
  • Prepare dining and serving areas to the accepted standard.
  • Serve drinks and food at the specified times to the designated portion size.
  • Operate tills in accordance with instructions.
  • Adhere to the procedures in the kitchen in relation to stock rotation, delivery and control.
  • Undertake daily cleaning duties including operating the dishwasher and washing up.
  • Record accurately all information with regard to health and food safety on a day to day basis.
  • Provide support where required to the students.
  • Cover for absent staff within other schools.

Midday Supervisor

Salary: NJC 3 £9.36 per hour FTE £18,065
Part time (8 hours 20 mins. per week), term time only + 1 week
Mon – Fri 12:00pm – 11.40am – 1pm

Furness Education Trust is looking for a Midday Supervisor to oversee the smooth-running of activities and the well-being of all students during lunchtime. This role will be based predominantly at Parkside Academy, however there will be a requirement to be flexible and able to travel to the other schools within our Trust if required.

You will:

  • Supervise students in the school hall, playground and other parts of the Academy.
  • Assist SEN students with a variety of tasks.
  • Clean up spillages.
  • Help to clear away food and stack tables and chairs after students have left the dining hall.
  • Ensure pupils keep out of areas which are out of bounds.
  • Deal with any incidents of misbehaviour and report any problems which you are unable to resolve.
  • Tend to students who are sick or injured, ensuring they receive appropriate medical attention and report serious accidents.

Minibus Driver/Caretaker

Salary NJC 4 £18,426 pro rata at £9.55 per hour

Job Ref. FET02/01/09

We are seeking to appoint a Minibus Driver/Caretaker to join our busy site/caretaking team at Furness Education Trust. We are looking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic person to deliver a high standard of support across a broad range of duties. The successful candidate will be required to actively support the day to day operation of the school during school hours. Previous caretaking experience is not essential as full training will be given. Applicants must hold a clean, full UK driving licence. Hours of work 7.00am – 9.00am and 2.30pm – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
